From Kabul, Afghanistan, Dr. Mohammad Farid Bazgar is both a seasoned Medical Doctor and an MBA graduate in Human Resource Management and Healthcare. With over 26 years in fields like Healthcare and Addiction Treatment, he has made a significant mark, especially as the Executive Director of the Khatiz Organization for Rehabilitation (KOR). Here, he led groundbreaking addiction treatments and initiatives, like producing millions of children’s books and translating numerous manuals for addiction professionals.
Dr. Bazgar’s work extended internationally, partnering with major health organizations. He notably helped in adopting WHO's COVID-19 guidelines in Afghan Drug Treatment Centres.
Besides his clinical and managerial roles, Dr. Bazgar is multilingual, fluent in English, Dari/Farsi, Hindi, and Urdu, and has also made significant contributions as a writer and editor, notably for Salamati Magazine.
His volunteer work, including a major role in the Afghan Open-Source COVID-19 Medical Supplies project in 2020, showcases his unwavering commitment to health and community.
